ACE: A Color Expert
Don't laugh. Its a serious abbreviation for an expert system for selecting user-interface colors.
ADC: Analog to Digital Convertor
An interface chip that converts the analog current or voltage to a computer understandable (binary) number. The opposite of adc is DAC.
API: Application Programmer Interface
A set of functions and procedures that can be called by the application programmer to do some work. In general, api denotes an interface to the operating system.
AWT: Abstact Window Toolkit
The official screen library of JAVA for nice cross-platform development.
